ISUZU: OVER A CENTURY MAKING HISTORY IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY
The story begins in 1916 in Japan when Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd. and Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Co. initiated plans to build automobiles. Subsequently, as a result of various strategic alliances, in 1949 the company changed its name to “Isuzu Motors Limited,” increasing its capital to 150 million yen.
